Ford's Autonomous Cars to Deliver Pizza in Miami

It's important to stay focused on the important stuff in life, like pizza. So Ford's expanding its autonomous car research program and heading to Miami to try out self-driving vehicles that deliver Domino's pizza.

The automaker will also be working with food delivery service Postmates (Shake Shack fans, rejoice). According to Ford, its partner Argo AI has already been working on lidar maps of the Miami area and doing initial surveys. In addition to learning more about safe driving behavior for autonomous cars, Ford hopes to learn more about consumer acceptance and how self-driving cars might be used in the future as couriers and delivery vehicles.

No word on what happens when you ask for a veggie pie and get pepperoni instead. You can't blame an autonomous delivery car--or can you?
